5-6 saltine crackers, crushed

This was from the freezer. I made a whole pound of hamburger this way, the first three burgers fell apart when cooked, but this one, which had been frozen several days stayed together quite nicely.

Pho
A couple handfuls of Bugles while I was cooking

1 can Campbell's chicken broth
1 can water
2 cloves garlic, sliced
2 green onions, sliced
5 large leaves flowering kale
three white mushrooms, quartered
1/4 cup broccoli flowers
three cherry tomatoes, halved
1/3 cucumber, in strips
two slices pickled ginger
6 oz firm tofu, cubed
"clump" of bean thread
2 tsp. peanut oil
pinch MSG
dash soy sauce

Wow, the cucumber flavor really came through nicely! This is easy to make. Just heat up a pan, add the oil, let it get hot and add the garlic and onions, and let them get soft and translucent. Then add the rest of the ingredients, except for the bean threads and boil it about a minute. Then break the clump of bean threads in half, add them, and boil it for another minute. |
